Well it is that time of year again. Bonnaroo is back for it's 12th season. For those that are not familiar with Bonnaroo here is a link.
http://www.bonnaroo.com/
It is one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the US and it is held on a 500 acre farm just down the road from my farm. They sell about 90,000 tickets but well over 100,000 people show up between the vendors, workers, festival goers and people looking to buy tickets. Big names like Paul McCartney are brought in along with dozens of other acts and they have 5 stages going full time. It attracts everything from the college kid to families to the grateful dead type hippie nomads. Our small town of 9,000 becomes the 4th largest city in Tennessee for the weekend.
Traffic is a nightmare. They were lined up all night last night on my road sleeping in their cars. It gets backed up for MILES in both directions until they get them all in. I am leaving town for the weekend. I hate the congestion and some of the demographic that follow these things. They say it brings in 50 million into the community and it was sold to us as a cure for high property taxes and that Bonnaroo would fund everything but guess what  .......they have raised my property taxes every year because the county is always broke
