Got a calf about 2.5 months old that kept laying down and getting up and moving every few minutes, also noticed her kicking at her belly. Vet suggested giving her mineral oil and gave me D-panthenol and banamine for her. Still eats ok but both sides seem to be swollen out. Any other suggestions?

Forgot to mention that she is a bottle calf.

I think I would pull the feed from her for a short time & get her to walk around to help things move through her. Also give her some Probios to get the good bacteria working.

How long ago did you treat her? The mineral oil should work fairly quickly.

If she is still bloated and uncomfortable (laying down, rolling back and forth, kicking at her stomach) you may have to tube her to release the froth from the bloat.

Treated her with the mineral this evening, 11/8. She is still pretty active and hopefully she will show improvemnt by morning. Thanks.
