I called our mentor and He thinks it is just a spot from rubbing against a tree because of an itch. That sounds strange to me but he has not seen the cow or pictures.

Your mentor is right. I wouldn't worry about, I have one that looks similar to that right now. As dun said keep an eye on it.

I wouldn't really worry either But I would spray a type of antibacterial spray ,Like furazolidone or The Purple Spray.On her just because of the flies. I'd hate to see maggots get started on her.

nothing to worry about. cows will get those from time to time. especially when theres flies around and in the summer, it seems.
