Heard from some fellow cattlemen in town. It seems a ranch a few miles from our place has an out break of black leg. In 4 days they have lost 5 big calves. They called the vet out to vaccinate the rest of the herd. But it takes 7 days for it to kick in. I don't know why some people wait so long to vaccinate their calves. This is prime weather for blackleg.
