Just wondering if anyone is useing them and what your opinions are?

Don't raise them, but you will find most staunch purebred breeders will turn their nose up at an attempt of making a well known commercial cross into a marketable and recognized breed. They are not a strong association....yet, and they are not backed by the industry money, but the do have the initiative, and the motivation and that can take you a long way. It could be a good time to get in early.....just remeber...Ostriches and Emus kinda came and went too....:)

Many of the "registered" breeders on this site raise breeds that were started in the same manner with the same goal in mind. Many of the breeders for "purebreds" on this site also have associations which allow for breeding up in their breeds (why allot of catttle breeds have turned black). The fact is, they are marketing the same thing that everyone else has been trying to do with their breeds for many years. As far as ligit Herefords...The AHA will not recognize them, but they will except an unregistered commercial animal of the same breeding in some of their branded beef programs where they will stamp it as certified hereford beef....so go figure.

If you are raising cattle for the right reasons, then your raising cattle right.
