Black Cherry Suggestions

On the new farm right in the middle of what are to be the working pens there is a 22 inch dbh black cherry tree. Thinking I'm going to need to take it out. Other thought is to cut it about 6 foot tall and leave there stump for a scratching post.
Thoughts?
