Best pig breed for fertility

That sounds good because white hogs sell better as piglets.
 
i bred mine back to a chester white, but if i had to do it all over again--which i wont--i would use a hampshire boar. i was always fond of hamps.
 
They seem to be a % of most hogs around and are the leanest. I like landrace on looks alone.
 
Had some meaty Hampshires come through the auction today and get a good price for this time of year and corn price.
 
Yorkshire sows and a Hampshire boar - yields what is commonly referred to as Blue Butts (the black baldies of the swine world). Growth is good, they show really good for 4-H kids and slaughter yield is really good.
Only reason I say York females is they are generally more docile and have better maternal instincts. Hamp sows can get a little grouchy at times.
