Well, there has been a poll about the best Polled Hereford bulls from the past 20 years, and a polled about the best Horned Hereford bulls from the past 20 years, but what about the best bulls in the next 5 years? What I am getting as is, what bulls daughters and sons will excel to the best extent?

I will be interested to see what becomes of Radar. I think he is a decent bull and with him being enlisted in the Circle A Ranch testing program, we will learn more about how produces for the real world, not just the show ring. If he would test out well, I would definitely use him to make baldies.

I may be going out on a limb here but I think a bull by the name of Haroldsons Anchor 236G. Look at the people behind him. Star Lake Dale Stith Hearitage, Deshazer, Andy Beck, Wooden Shoe, Not to menshion the people in Canada, Denmark and Austraila. And another reason is a sister was Jr. Champion at Agribition. Mother was Jr Champion at Denver. and the Granddam was champion at Agrabition. 3 generations of Champions.3 generations of grat cows.

None of those bulls will be the great one. Pick some others as possibilities. The current list has too many flaws and most of them are not what the breed needs to supply consumers with the type product they want. Seed stock producers need to listen to what people want on their plate not what is winning shows or promoted best. However the Bennett M326 is probaly the best choice. He sure looks sway back in his pictures and that alone keeps me from giving him more consideration as a tool to find the next great one.

Anchor is a bull that I think will produce daughters that will be very, very productive. I should have put him on here, but I forgot about him.

No, he isn't that bad sway backed, maybe a little bit, but not much. His sons at KCF are doing well on test and I believe that M326 is a breed improver in my book.

What do some of you Canadians think of the Stamina bull? Do you think he will produce excellent daughters and bulls for use in the future? I think that he is very impressive and very thick.

M326 I think is a better bull than Remitall Online 122L, but if your chasing a higher performance type animal, then M326 isn't suited for your program. But, again, M326 is the better bull over 122L anyday. Online had defects, M326 didn't have a single thing wrong, expect with the blue tongue issue that couldn't get semen out of the US. But that is very minor, compared to the defects of 122L.

And some have said on here that Online is far ahead of the game in the Hereford breed, well I think M326 is further ahead than Online.

I disagree with you here. I think Online's phenotype will outweigh anything M326 can do with his EPDs. Not to mention, Online's sons working as herd bulls out number M326's 20 to 1.

Who cares if a couple of calves has a defect. Look at how many more cows will have great udders. Look at the extra performance. The only reason Online is slowing down is because nobody has any semen. And the semen that is out there is very expensive. I just wish I had a 100 Online daughters. The biggest singel problem with Hereford cattle is they have bad udders compared to other breeds.Online is as good in that area as any bull there is.

I can only agree with you good phenotype and growth. The rest I will reserve my opinion on....... :)

I used a m326 last year and this years calves are great out of him. I think Rib Eye will be a bull to watch, from what I have seen at Kevin's his calves are tremendously thick and carry muscle everywhere. I think his calves are taking the hereford breed in the correct direction. It will be interesting to see how his heifers develop and how the udders look. Since he was bought by ABS I believe he will see a lot of use like his daddy. Plus his semen is affordable

Both online and m326 bring a lot to the table. I won't use online for a lot of reasons, but am basing a large part of my cow herd around m326 and his sons bred back to remitall bulls.

I agree with that! I just would use other bulls to clean up udders than Online...

Well 1848, I would prefer the M326 bulls son, one reason, at least the M326 sons won't have testicle or breeding problems or bad feet like Rocket2222 had and he got rid of that bulll. As far as M326 sons, they are holding up well, no defects, thick, moderate framed and great carcass numbers.

So, again 1848, which bull would you want to be the sire of your herd bull or bulls now, Online or Bennett M326?

Leeshy and how long do you think those hard doing females will hold up, 5 years maybe at the max, have bad feet and live under a silo all there lives, not my typical cow to produce, but M326 daughters are great, good milking females with thickness and ample milk flow.

And, also, M326, his dam, is by far not a hard doing cow like 24H, yest, 24H is the super cow in the breed, she has her faults as well, like babe feet. I was told two years in Denver when Palliadin won the whole thing, that 24H didn't have an ounce of milk in her, just all fat. Well, I will have to disagree because from what I have seen from the Online females, there milking well with great udder structure and combined with 8E, how could someone go wrong, but again, Online had defects in his testicles and reproduction and his sons are having the same problem.

Oak, basing your cowherd around M326 and "certain" Remitall genetics will get your far into the Hereford breed. But I would stay from some of those Remitall bulls, but stick with bulls like Governor, Boomer, Embracer, and Pounder.

THG if 24H didnt milk, How come every natral calf she ever had always weaned heavier than the ET calves. Online Intensafier wer both natral calves. and you don't win a cow calf pair and be a national champion when you have no udder. The online daughters that I have seen in desert situations have great udders and wean big calves. The very first Online heifer to calv was one that was 14monts old . And her calf won its class in oregon. Not to bad for a 14 month old heifer.
