Has anyone else notice a huge upswing of people begging on street corners. When I go out to lunch it is about 2 miles from the office to the area with places to eat. I pass by freeway off ramps, major intersections, and the major mall. It is normal anymore to see 5 or 6 people standing on a street corner with a sign begging for money. Today I saw 5. All of them looked to be men in their 30's or 40's. All of them look healthy enough to work. It use to be rare to see someone doing this. Now there are some corners where it is rare to see them empty. In the past if you saw someone doing this their sign read will work for food or something like that. Now their signs just say give me money.
