Our oldest daughter's scramble heifer for our county fair (this month) The heifer was born on Sept. 11, 2009.
Shortly after we bought her in March 2010.
And a couple of weeks ago, ready for the fair
The heifer has been a good project. Our daughter wanted a heifer that had not been handled, one fresh off of her mother. DD has done a good job training her. The heifer was turned out 24/7 with the other cows and brought in twice daily for grain. DD will start keeping her stalled 10 to 12 days before the fair so that the heifer will adapt to not grazing and won't draw up there.
DD is a senior in HS, so this is her last fair. I predict waterworks. The last fair is very emotional for many of the kids.
Thanks for looking.
