No that is a cinnamon colored black bear. Not all black bears are black. They come in a lot of different colors. It is a long ways from here to any grizzly.

She is just fattened up for the winter. Should taking a long winter nap pretty soon.. Last fall I think she put on 150 pounds in 6 weeks of eating apples daily here.

And by spring she will be skin and bones and hungry for a meal.

Bear season with dogs opens here tomorrow. Lots of food for them this year so they might be big. Here the sows and cubs will go to den in a couple weeks but the others will stay out at least until mid January. Even then they only stay in the den if it's real bad weather.

Unless the weather gets really bad i suspect you will get pictures all winter. Food is too easy for it.
