Again the press sortof distorts the facts and wants to play the blame game and blame the poor hound. Lets just say its not a wise thing to walk up and kick an animal playing possum - especially a bear. You may ask how I know such wisdom but let's just say its cause I got a big hunk of fresh bear meat in the freezer and signs are not readily available to be given out to people in the woods outside of Fargo Georgia. ;-)

Never seen a bear in Ga. yet, I hope I'am hunting for one when I do see the first one. Jo, every time I fly over the swamp I get the weeB geeB's. Thats a vast area with no openings big enough to land if something goes wrong.

Jo, my Dad was just in the Chattahoochie management area in North Georgia (just outside of Ellijay). He was camping with friends who were bow hunting deer and bear. They saw several bears every day there. One of the guys killed one. Everybody saw several bears each. My Dad, who was the camp jay, (in other words....lazy non-hunter who hangs out by the fire and eats up all the food) saw several from camp. I am thinking about trying it out next year. It is only 150 miles for me.

There's a lot of them up in the mountains. I once had two bear cubs roll into my tent playing while the mother was busy untying my trash bag from a tree. We are beginning to see more of them here. Don't know if the fires have run them out of the swamp or what but sightings are more common. They give the bee keepers a headache.
