I recently contacted two mills about formulating a custom mineral mix. One mill is pushing Pro Gain - - claiming it generates more lbs of gain per day than the Bovatec ionosphore I am currently using. I checked the internet but did not find any reports that supported this claim.

Any "feedback" from Pro Gain users?

Have never heard of Pro Gain.

From what I understand, and might stand to be corrected, that Bovatec is an ionosphore and keeps the PH of feed up to a PH neutral point, so that it doesn't drop into the "acidic" range while in the rumen, thus preventing bloat that develops because of the inability to naturally do so with saliva.

For years people have gotten some of the same results using "Baking Soda".

If you find out any more about this Pro Gain please let us know more about it. Laminitis (founder) is sometimes a precurser to bloat also, I believe. Bloat and other digestion inefficiencies in cattle is an economically important area in cattle research that will benefit all of us.
