bad weather yesterday

Yesterday was just crazy! Bad winds, a tornado touched down in a nearby town. What is weird is that the cows were acting strange all day, looking at the sky all the time, it about freaked me out. I just hate those high winds, and of course a baby calfs' cage flipped over, and she was just roaming around, so I had to go out and chase her down. Ended up catching her in the woods, thankfully before we both got lost, or hit by lightening, which was wicked!

The tornado touched down on hte other side of town form my eldests' school, so you can imagine the choas there was at the school and pretty much all over town, add about 4 inches of rain-whew, lets just hope today is a lil milder.

We were lucky with that one. Only 1 3/10 inch of rain but high winds, roads flooded again. After it passed all of the cows including the 8-9 year olds were running around and acting siliier then the calves. They must really enjoy slipping and sliding in the mud and tearing up the pasture.

We kinda missed the bad stuff this time down here this time. I don't no how much rain we got mostof it came after dark last night so have not checked the rain gage yet. lots thunder and lighting.

Saturday night was bad down here. About an inch of hail on the ground, followed by 5 inches of rain over the next 24 hours. Strong winds and flooding in some areas. Thankfully, we didn't have any major damage other than my gravel driveway, which is a hopeless cause. The weatherman says we've got more coming this way from the north.

man you was having some heck of a bad weather day.our friends was coming back from iowa saturday and sunday.an they said the weather was real bad coming back.that they heard there was a twister 4mi ahead of them on them mo ark boarder.if their daughters car hadnt broke down theyd prolly been in the twister.

I hate tornadoes and i wouldn't have gone outside at all, except to hide and that dang calf was just moving too much into the woods, when you're surrounded by 160 acres of DNR land, could have gotten lost real fast, and it was a heifer, too much money to say good bye to.

I sure hope you have your waterwings on the cows again. I noticed mine have been gathering wood and pacing of an area to build an ark. I heard one yesterday asking how long was a cubit.

I'm afraid it will be a great year for hay but it will be so wet we won;t be able to cut it

Sound like y'all are having a spring like we had last year. Great for growing hay but terrible for curing. Can't get in to cut when needed. If you do cut, mornings usually produce a lot of dew slowing the curing process. Then with so much moisture in the ground, just running the tractor over the hay while raking pulls moisture to the surface and into the hay. Can be challenging but I will take a wet year over a dry year.
