due mid march...just something I noticed

Wait, I looked at the picture again. That is to far forward to be normal. Are you sure she had not had an injury to the ribs. Maybe from one of the horned cows while in the hay ring.

Looks pretty far forward and high. Also pretty early to be seeing that much of a bump isn't it?
 
It does look a bit too sharp and too far forward... and a bit early.. I wouldn't expect the calf to weigh over 40 lbs now (there's a chart somewhere that says how much they weigh...)

I'd think it could be a rib injury as well, or perhaps an abscess from something that poked her there?

I agree, not a baby bump. Swelling from tissue injury is more likely.

Baby bumps only last a few seconds to minutes at most.
 
One of my heifers just *really* showed me her baby bump yesterday while feeding.. she's 2 months off yet.

Has this bump disappeared now?
 
i couldnt see it over the weekend. we were mving to another pasture so they were all fired up but it wasnt as noticeable as it was or it wouldve easily been spotted.
 
If it's forawrd of the lst rib it isn;t a "baby bump". Behind the rib cage it probably is. I had one cow that I swear carried her calf sideways the whole time. One day it looked like she had calved cause there was no bump, that night she calved.
 
The mother, and grandmother of the heifers I spoke of were cases of carrying the calf sideways.. I always said they looked like they swallowed a barrel.. sideways

She calved so easy I always claimed she could pass a volkswagon sideways. Sometimes I thought she might take me up on it.
 
it looked to be noticeably smaller last night. but ill be watching it..i been sick for 4 days so I aint seen her but for a second...I got a pretty good look last night since I didn't die after all....dang colds man I hate em..now my boy got it
 
well yall nailed it..thanks for the help

its gone and once I got a good look at her theres a good size cut there almost healed over..not deep looking but about 2'' long...she got horned or something
