These calves are growning like weeds. Pretty happy with them so far.

The Shorthorn calves are really impressing me too.

I really like this girl.

One of my favorite Shorthorn calves. She IS a keeper.

Nice when a heifer gives you a well doing growthy calf. Sorta like jumping a triple hurdle at once.
I liked the first guy best, but I am prejudiced!

Nope, I meant that the calves are out of 2 year old dams. First calf heifers.

You mean the last one? Nope, that is a different calf. But the preemie calf is doing quite well. I am really impressed with him.

Yes, those heifers are doing a great job. Mind you they are bred to bulls that should add some performance to the calves. We don't use "heifer" bulls, which around here usually mean light BW and that is about it (steers with nuts). The second calf is out of the Hereford bull that we used on cows last year. The first is out of a heifer that we bought back (our own genetics).

Didn't think you were. It wasn't as clear as I thought it was. Yes, those are a couple of pretty good calves. The hereford is a steer though ;-)
