Attaching lumber to masonry

I needed to attach some 2x4's to the wall and floor of my toolroom and had no anchors or masonry screws. So drilled a hole in the lumber, then into the masonry. Next I placed two 10d nails in the holes and hammered them in at the same time and the lumber is attached very securely. Stole the idea off of the internet.
 
Never heard of that, but it's handy to know. Helped remodel a building one time where they had drilled holes in the concrete and then drove wooden pieces into the holes and nailed into that. :tiphat:
