Just left an elderly couple at a coffee shop. Great old friends of my dad. Guess what everyone there was discussing? Lol.

Well, I don't drink coffee , but at every Salebarn or feed store or most any other place I go, it's hard to not hear something about the current condition of our country. Or you might have been something about the duck people.

some of my earliest memories are being at my grandparents house and every morning there would be 2 to 4 people show up for coffee at 630am and would sit and talk till 7am. when they passed my uncle kept it going and built a room in the end of the barn just for coffee an fellowship. even though he is gone now my aunt keeps it going and there is at least 5 there every morning and on weekends up to 10 or 12 all local families that live within a few miles. I do not know when it started exactly but my guess would be the early 70's. I will be the next in line to continue it when my aunt passes and it will be back where it all started at my house.

That's very cool.

Your being a traditionalist!

Seriously, that's good stuff.

Awesome M5. Seems there's always a good story lurking here.

Everyone was talking about Phil. Some of those old codgers had never heard of him until now.

I'm glad to hear that Boogie, maybe a lot of the silent majority will wake up and speak their mind and let "the powers that be" know that we do not stand for all the q--er bs.

Cabo you're not channeling Tricky Dick Nixon are you? I haven't heard anyone call on the 'silent majority' since a long long time ago.

Then it would seem to be time for the silent majority to speak up.

That was grandma's at 4:30 PM for the few years that I lived near her. There was always coffee, boxed wine, or Lucky Lager and you were free to bring your own if none of those suited you. If you had a business deal going you could bring your client by and everyone would treat them like family. If you had a date she needed to be there before you took her out. If you just got off work you'd better invite you friends from work. Anyone that the family cared about was welcome and that went on seven days a week for the ten years that she lived within driving distance of family.
My cousin inherited that house when she died and it is no longer an organized event but everyone knows where the fridge on the back porch is and it's stocked regardless of who is or isn't home. It's a good place to bump into someone like you when you need to feel connected.

No I was not channeling Tricky Dick, just can't believe that a majority of the people in this country are sexual deviates. But I am still having trouble believing that a majority voted for a president with muslim first, middle and last names.

To this day I am not convinced this happened.
I am still not convinced that a coup didn't take place through rigged elections.

I'm not really sure having him as the face of modern Christianity is helpful to the cause. I'd pick the Pope over Phil to represent faithful Christians.

But I understand how others might differ. You have that Right.

I did not say that Phil should be the leader of anything. I also don't think he said anything that is not true. I hope that this is the turning point of the screaming minority forcing their ideas on the straight people of this country.
