I suppose you're gonna have your first calves at some point. Today was that day for me. I worked all night and pulled in this morning to look in the pasture and see my 57 cow standing over a black speck in the grass. That little speck turned out to be a prettye heifer calf, and the first to fall on the farm. It was a bit on the small side, weighing probably only 50-55 lbs but most importantly to me it was alive and perky. I saw momma's back two quarters had been nursed so I just sat back and watched that little girl nap while mom got her fill of hay. I am ecstatic to say the least, as I was pretty anxious about it haha. I have one more cow to calve out and she is due within the next 1-2 days I imagine. Hopefully she has no issues and we have another addition to the farm. What an amazing feeling seeing new life and the process mother nature has. Just incredible.

My Grandma.. She's 90, just an incredible woman.
She couldn't decide if she wanted to play or nurse, but she finally made her mind up!
Proud momma. I bought her and her 'sister' from a consignment at one of the local barns. She's good so far.
Ready to take on the world! (I told you she was small!!)
Welp I'm going to go check on the other cow now
