If anyone has a use for armidillos I seemed to have had a bumper crop. They are all free to a home other than mine and I will deliver within a 10 mile radius. They must be good for something but I aint figured out what yet. Any Ideas?

We have an unusually large number of them around our place, too. Good luck gettin rid of 'em.

Control yellowjackets and bubblebees.
 
One of my friends who is a game biologist said that armadiggers are a quail's worst enemy. Eggs are their favorite food.

I like to shoot them with a big gun cause they splode like a watermelon!

actually seems to me that a hide from one makes for some tuff boots! heard that someplace or was it from some one wanting to get rid of some :D

She sure does! And to think I was dumb enough to ask if that's really what they were. :roll: I thought maybe another name for them rocky mountain oysters and if so I wasn't touchin them. :shock:
 
I wasn't gonna try one but figured I ought to in an effort to redeam myself for turning down the glass of tea. :roll: :shock:
 
I think they eat mole crickets which wreak havoc on bahiagrass. About the only enemy of bahia. They do have hair too if you ever see the underside of them.
 
So....how does one go about getting an invite to hunt these little pesky critters? ;-) :cboy:

Would a lil ol .308 be good enuff to put in a fatal shot? I hear tell they can sometimes get near as big as volkswagon.....lol :cboy:
 
Killed three last week. My yellow lab has finally decided at age 8 he is a diller dog. I go out at night and he goes and finds them for me.

Ate a few of them in my younger years. Had a grandma that liked to cook them because it was a free meal. No too bad but like everything else, some are tough and some are not. I wouldn't eat them today. I only ate them back then because that is what she brought out to the hay fields. Diller stew. As many of you know, you will eat just about anything after hand handling square bales for several hours.
 
Shooting armadillos is like shooting fish in a barrel. Now, to make it a little more exciting you need to lose the guns and grab a baseball bat! Now that's a little bit more of a challenge. I really don't think I'd want to eat one though. Flaboy, what do they taste like? Chicken?
 
Before anyone gets carried away about hunting and eating armadillo they are known carriers of Leprosy.

Actually yes but much tougher and maybe just a little touch of grease.

For the Leprosy fear, "the disease is not especially contagious; researchers think that 95 percent of humans are naturally immune.
