Applying for Job at Genetics Lab

I am thinking about applying for a job at a genetics lab that is about 15 minutes away from my house. Im not really looking for any specific jobs, Im looking more at being able to observe some of the procedures and getting contacts. I am looking at Global Genetics and Biologicals (http://www.globalgeneticsandbiologicals.com). They do a wide range of work like AI, embryo, tissue banking and cloning. Im not looking to do any actual genetics work or that type of thing, I dont have the knowledge or experience to do that, but more just some other job like cleaning or feeding animals. Im looking more for the experience working with animals more and helping me to get into the vet school at Texas A&M (several of the doctors there are professors at the vet school).

Does anyone have any suggestions that could help get a job at a place like that? Or does someone know of another type of job I could look for that could help in getting into vet school?

I would think that a job like this would look good on your application. Even better may be a job working with a practicing veterinarian to get a wider range of experience in that profession.
