I forgive you, however, I am disappointed. I was in the waiting room of my Doctor reading the exchange between you and CF. I was excited that it might provide the inspiration for my salvation. BTW: As I expected, Doctor is treating me for Lyme disease. Got it in Missouri, tick capital of the world. I was getting 6 ticks a day off of me. One little bugger got me on the leg. Developed a perfect rosette. Then the telltale bullseye. I knew the signs. Lyme disease is caused by a spirochaete. Same bacteria that causes syphilis.

Tell me, what happened? I enjoyed that thread. More fun than a barrel of blacksnakes.

Had my bought with Lyme's about 8 years back. Text book symptomology like yours. A month supply of doxycycline=good as new. Well, almost.

As far as the thread? Well, prolly shouldn't go back down that road.

I can send you a five gallon bucket of fire ants and your tick problem will be gone. You will have to learn the fire ant shuffle though see people dancing to it quite regular around here.

I am on a 10 day Supply of Doxycycline Hyclate 100 MG. Maybe mine is in an earlier stage. There are three stages. Tertiary is too late to treat.

We have a lot of ticks here, but perhaps ours don't carry lyme's disease.. the feral horses are COVERED in them.. there isn't a spot on their skin anywhere they don't have them

I missed it I guess. Last post I read early this morning there were 4-5 scripture verses--I figured right then someone would get their panties wadded up the second they saw it and zap it all.

Uh oh, hope to not have disappointed you brother Ron. Was just a discussion of history, origination of laws and differences in cultures. Taboo stuff for sure. Was hoping you would have been able to join.

Will be praying that your lyme's infection responds favorably to the anti-microbial agents and leaves no long term effects.

Used to be, in the 60s- early 70s, that you couldn't walk thru any tall grass or woods here without seeing a cloud of ticks marching up your legs and arms (no exaggeration) .
Fire ants came, and they all but disappeared. I have gotten 2-3 in the last 10 years.

CB,

I don't know why, but while we still have plenty of them the fire ants aren't nearly as bad here as they were 30 or 40 years ago. Are you seeing the same thing?

Rafter how many hard freezes do you get each winter? Hard freezes and the years we actually had snow wiped out my fire ants the following year.

Had one tick in a horse ear over the past ten years.

I was binding down round bales last week on the GN. Hugged a bale that was covered. Ripped my clothes off then found them in my drawers too. They came off. Buck naked on the end of the G/N beating my clothes. The guy loading was chuckling. Wife was in the cab in the a/c and missed it all. Farm Market road there in Santo was about a quarter mile across the pasture. Don't know if anyone saw or not.

It's not cold that's reducing them. We go years with the temperature never getting much below 30° here.
