Anyone know how to make logo's?

I have a very simple logo I want made for our cattle ranch, bull head with ranch name in a horse shoe shape around it but cant figure out how to do it. Does anyone one the forum do such?

What was that guy around here always promoting his website.. something like heifers.net, betterheifer.net or such? Look at his site... that is how NOT to do it, it screams it was made in a cabin in the boonies somewhere.
