Anyone heard...

Help Support CattleToday:

Doesn't look like a ban on OTC antibiotics...just discussion of a possible ban on using human antibiotics solely for cattle growth by giving it in food and water. All antibiotics (even human ones) would still be available to treat sick animals.

Did I miss something?

The FDA was considering banning OTC sales of certain farm/pet use antibiotics and vaccines last year, with the ban going into effect Feb 2013. You would still be able to get the meds, but only with a Vet's prescription.I don't know what happened to that issue--perhaps they postponed implementation..?

It came up in a discussion on a Facebook farm site and I was wondering if anyone here had heard of anything. The link I posted was the only thing I found close and I was just trying to figure it all out.
