Cows , And what colors do they come in I never seen none around here but I don't have a lot of dairy farms around here,

Black, red and yellow. In the US they are strictly a beef breed

Thanks the thing I read made it sound like they was like a ox .
Hoss, 3waycross and a couple of others all breed them. We have a number of F1 Gelbvieh Red(and black) Angus.

Google, Double Diamond Farms. Lots of pictures of Black and Red Gelbvieh. Here are a couple to start with:

great post first look at the breed page on cattle today, second were are you located? Gelbvieh cattle are good milkers but not dairy cows great muscle and mothering, with good dispositions. You haven't seen a gelbvieh BUTT that would dispell any other thoughts

Hey them in the pictures look pretty good for a generic Limousin!!

RBB, I know one thing, those twin girls look pretty good. One of those girls is the UK County extension agent in the county where my farm is located. I bought a PB Simmental from her. She is a great asset to cattle folks in our county. A dedicated lady.

We've had Gelbvieh cattle since the early 80s. They are tough to beat. Some of the best cows we've had are GV X Tarentaise cows.
