Wife and kids did these together last night.

Did them once or twice as a kid. Much rather prefer to eat the ingredients by themselves than with the gingerbread. A lot of work for something that doesn't last very long. Good fun for the kids though. Mine were much more heavily decorated, the entire house was caked in icing and sugary sweets. Could have called them 'the house of diabetes'.

We made one this year. I can't have canola oil so we made it from scratch. Best thing ever. It made it two days before my 4 y/o destructo bot got to it. He had a blast and I didn't have to feel baad for eating it.

skyht1 they are
as I'm diabetic it could be 'Death/Murder by gingerbread men' I've make them with my eldest granddaughter not this year though as I won't see her now until after Christmas.

We make them out of graham crackers also. We make our own frosting, and then buy the candy to decorate. It is fun when you do it that way... and you can eat your mess ups! There are always more crackers to replace the ones you ate!

Guess I could try one out of Cheerios . That is about all I can eat. Trying to lower triglycerides and cholesterol. Not much fun!
Sky, your wife and kids did a great job on theirs. I don't know why my daughter and I never tried to make one. We did bake cut out cookies at Christmas. Make lots of memories with your kids while you can.

Thanks Willimsv. Ya I am cutting back on sweets in 2015 ya they grow up fast :cry2:

Good job!
Yes, It is a tradition in our family. My daughter makes one with my grand kids every year. We also do the decorated sugar cookies with the kids every year. The sugar cookies have been a tradition in my family all my life. My mom always made it a big deal. So now, my (adult) sisters, nieces, nephews, and all their kids get together for the "cookie decorating party". Lot's of fun!
