Just shot another eastern. This one was pushing 6 ft and had 13 rattles and a button also. Pics to follow. This clearing we're doing is really getting them riled up

Not where I'm at. I have heard of a few timber rattlers up on the bluffs north west of Memphis. None out my way. I have to watch for copperheads and water moccasins enough as it is. You don't reach down and stick your hand under anything that's been there for any than a few minutes. From time to time you'll see a moccasin sunning him self on a pond levee. I keep a Keltec in my pocket with 7 reasons they should have broke camp before I saw them.

When I read "I shot another eastern" I thought that would like to shoot a few easterners around here too.... Then I realized you were talking rattlesnakes not just the common everyday eastern snake in the grass type who move out here.

LOL when I read "I shot another eastern", my thoughts went to kangaroos.

There's a few north easterns I wouldn't mind getting rid of, but they're in-laws too.
both the rattler skins are tanning out along with a 5 ft mud snake that looked a lot like a cottonmouth til we saw the belly. The rs skins look incredible so far. Very vivid yellows on the diamonds, and the tanning solution should bring em out even further. Ill post some pictures in 5 days once they're all tanned out and worked. I'm thinking of having some belts made, one for me and my son, but they're going to have to be some wide belts to capture the full diamonds...not sure yet. Ill check with my alligator skin guy

Are we having that one for lunch? Always wanted to try it. Darn big snake. We have timber rattlers here but 56" with 12 rattles is the biggest I have gotten.

Sorry KT, but I'm too much of a chicken to try rs. Ill save you anymore we get. Heck, ill ship em live to you even!

Alive at least they would stay fresh. I will try some if you can get someone to fix it. If you can handle 3 day old cow lungs as gator bait you have the stomach for a little snake.

You would think. But I've been known to say that dolphin(mahi mahi) is nasty, had some strong red snapper, gator, etc, and not be able to finish a meal because the stomach just won't eat any more. Snake just isn't on my list. I'm not eating any 3 day old lungs either, just using em for gator bait.
