another of the greatest generation gone

Help Support CattleToday:

One of the most interesting people I ever read about. Thanks for sharing that.

This was a great story about an extraordinary man who lived a very exciting life. He did many things that most people never dream of. I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. I love to read about Native Americans.

thanks for posting this!!
Sad as well, that every day, many more 'lesser known' (but heroes still) of that generation pass away. It is expected, that before 2040, the very last one will be gone. Approx 1100 of them die every day. I read an article not long ago, stating the youngest US WW2 veteran is now 78. (he dodged the questions and enlisted at age 13 in 1943.) (The article was several years old and I just computed his present age--he may in fact already have died)
In my lifetime, I have seen the last of the US Civil War veterans pass-1953, the last of the US Spanish American War veterans pass-1993, and the last of the US World War 1 veteran pass-2011.
