Wow. I know him. His family and kids were very active in the junior simmental association. Son Blake is a college professor and well known livestock judge. Father and son judged together at Louisville a few years back. Sad.

always hate to hear about farming accidents. have heard several times that farming is the most dangerous occupation in USA. prayers for family and friends.

They farm about 40 minutes South of me.
I work with Blake through Black Hawk good guy. Super well known family. Some of the best cattlemen in the country.
Terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim's family.

What a tribute to a Great man. There were over 3,000 people at visitation, 1,000 attended the funeral, and over 600 at the lunch afterward.
The visitation went from 3pm to 11pm. And to top it off I heard the youngest son had to leave part way through because someone got a hold of them to say they had cows out.
