Angus folks I've got a question

Hi all. Been looking all over the place for some info on the bull Gibbillini anyone ever heard of him or know anything about him?

I have heard of the bull but I don't even know who his sire is sorry I can't be of any assistance.

Gibb illini was a young bull that was in the select sires stud a few years ago.

I forget off the top of my head who his sire was.

I used him as a yonug bull and had a calf out of one of our good cows that was top gaining bull in the Culpeper BCIA bull test that year.

We have one or two daughters and they are decent cows.

Illini died at an early age but I never did know of what.

Bingo! Thanks for the help guys. I was spelling the name as all one word not two. Sire was Bon View Bando and Dam was Gibb Barbara Lass. Anyone else have any info on them? This is the sire of my daughters new calf. Good, bad whatever info would be appreciated. Just want to know so we can figure out what we will breed her to. Maybe best to pm me with anything negative, don't want to start a war on here ;-)

A little correction: his sire is Bon View Bando 598. Here's a link to his pedigree. We never used him. Not because there was anything wrong him, but we always considered him "heifer bull". And we had semen on other calving ease bulls that worked for us. His EPDs are ok, a bit light on muscle (REA), but many heifer bulls are. I'd guess the heifer will have some frame, with TC Dividend, Leachman Prompter and 598 in her pedigree. You might want to look at some of the popular moderate framed, thicker bulls out there. Is she headed for the show ring or the pasture?

Thanks Frankie for your time in looking this up. She is more than likely is headed for pasture, I'm not so sure that showing is something we really want to get into. Although we were told by a guy on the fair board she was a really sound calf with great potential. She is a big girl, much larger than her sister, who was born a month earlier. I really need to figure out the posting photos thing here.

My daughter is very pleased with her investment :D She also just made about $250.00 on her pumpkins 8) Maybe she should give me a low interest loan on that horse I want :roll:
