Hey all-

I'm not up on on the Angus genetics but I'm looking at 15 mo old bull on my hereford heifers. He is out of Rito 6EM3. Curious if anyone has any of this bull's progeny or care to comment on the video/EPD.

I trust the breeder, close to family and very reputable. He sells 6-8 bulls per year and has meticulous records.

This bull calf was out of a heifer who was AI'd to Rito 6EM3. He weighed 70 lbs at birth.

Would be more interested in seeing pictures and EPDs of the actual bull you are looking at. Most bulls today are out of great AI sires. Some are good and some are not. Usually out of 100 bulls all AI sired I will find 3-4 that I would own.

Good point. He his bulls in pasture that I just gazed at from the road but going to take closer look this week. Will grab some pics and post here. Just had them tested and he's got good swimmers.

ISO-

Not a very good pic. I like his profile but I'm not thoroughly impressed with his back legs. He's little sickle-hocked, IMO. He just turned 1 yr old, breeder estimates him at 1k lbs. He's getting as much hay and about 10 lbs of corn per day.

This is my first bull, what do you guys like to see (disposition) from a yearling bull that will go on heifers?

Can't tell much from that pic. He's only 12 months old, I want them to be at least 15 months before turnout to breed unless they are only on a few. Get better pics and post his EPDs.

What about the other bulls the fellow has for sale? You need more/better pics to get a qualified response here I believe. Happy Easter! I wish I was shopping for a bull this week! We could name him Roller!

The others are spoken for. They are more growth bulls going on cows. Simmental and SimAngus.

He does have a SimAngus that would be OK for heifers but I wanted to stay more to the true F1 with Angus. Probably 6 one way, half dozen another...
