Just returned home from the 100th BD party in MO (well, THIS body did, anyway), and a good time was had by all. Dad's doing pretty darn good for an old geezer. They even renewed his driver's license last week (he said they did let him skate on the smallest line of print on the vision test)! I'm already missing 100 degree temps with 69% humidity. Need to go out and put the chickens in, and I'll probably freeze my a$$ off doing it. :) The high here today was 70; it's about 52 on the front porch right now.
Spent 8 hrs. in the Seattle airport Friday for our "delayed" non-stop flight. Airline did give us each $200 vouchers towards a future flight. Spent Saturday visiting and readying for the party; then off to a nearby dirt track for a night of stock car racing. Party Sunday, with somewhere between 150-180 in attendance -- not all signed the guest book, and some ate more than one piece of cake, so trying to count by planned cake servings wasn't very effective, either. Last count, there were about 220 cards FIL received either via mail or the party -- he had to quit cards by about 11:00 p.m. Sunday night and take the task up again next morning. Monday spent cramming in more visiting, and this morning I was back on a plane headed west.
So, we did NOT squeeze in a visit to a CTB friend further south in Missouri. Maybe next year, G.O.D.
Happy 4th of July everyone. Fireworks ban here this year.
