Or am I just be a customer from Hxll :mad: , Is a farm equipment dealer obligated to tell a customer that an expensive ($20K+) piece of equipment was make in 2012, although identical to one made in late 2014. If he were $1000 -$2000 cheaper, I would be more open minded, but he was only couple hundred bucks cheaper.

It happened to me one time, but I was buying a used tractor from an individual. He advertised it as and honestly believed it was a 1996. He bought it new in 1997, and then I bought from him in 1998 with 140 hrs. We discovered it was a 1993 model before I handed him the $$. I probably would not have noticed it, except it was during the time New Holland was transition away from the Ford name. Decals kept changing for a few years

I don't think they are obligated but it would be nice if they did but at the same time I think if you are spending a decent amount of money out of respect for yourself you should do your due dilligence and make sure that the " expensive 20k + piece of equipment" is what they say it is or what you believe it to be. I think shame on the dealer for not telling you if they knew and shame on you for not looking into it closely. Google search " Caveat emptor "
 
Mt wife bought a car from a dealer once, our second from them, that had something like 179 miles on it. I'm not a car guy, so I didn't question it, not knowing if that is out of the ordinary, thinking that people may have test driven it, etc. We didn't learn that it was a used car until we were signing the paperwork. Why someone would turn in a new car with so few miles was not the first question on our minds. We were looking for new, and if it didn't say so, it sure didn't say that it was used. It even had what looked like the manufacturers sticker still on it. We felt that at the least we should have been informed that we were looking at a used car. The dealership, including the owner didn't see a thing wrong with it, and she only decided to personally talk to us when we were about to walk away from the deal. They grudgingly offered some comps, but never even apologized for misleading us. My wife wanted the car, and we still have it, but it left a bad taste in our mouth and we no longer trust them. She's about due for a new one, and we're voting with our pocketbook and will look elsewhere. I don't know if they have a legal obligation in our state to divulge that or not, but they still ended up losing out on any future sales from us, and we've told a lot of other people the story if it comes up.

I have wondered the same thing. I stopped by a dealership and they had some new Krone disc mowers on the lot that were made in 2012. I doubt they would discount them much, but would them sitting outside for two years be a problem?
