Fall calves have done pretty good this time. Really liked the few Simmental calves we got, The first 3 are steers, next 3 are heifers. The first 4 red calves are all by a Simmental bull the black calves and the longhorn/Brahman cow’s cows red brindle steer calf (same calf standing and then laying down in front of her ) are by our 3/4 Angus bull.
That shorthorn looking heifer is only 12.5% Shorthorn, She’s 1/2 Simmental and 1/4 Angus.
The last picture of calves are definitely not ready to wean, just thought it was a neat view of several of them laying in close proximity,

What is the other 12.5%? Not a bad lookin calf out of your LH at all! Bet she is a good mother, huh?
Hereford.
Yes that longhorn cross is a great mother and protective of other calves too. She comes to investigate anything going on out if the ordinary. She’s gentle and not cantankerous but I wouldn’t want to mess with her calf or any other when she’s coming that way.

Really nice calves. Wow that land is lovely. You sure got some nice stock. Prices are up even higher here this week. Hopefully you get some good prices for those steers. Assuming you're keeping the heifers as replacements?

Thank you. We’re planning on keeping the shorthorn looking heifer, maybe another on or two.

I have two calves. Is it normal for calves to have six tits different cows same bull. Momma cows only have four tits?
