bought 5 reg angus heifers, want to bred them to a bull with a 0 or neg epd. I've been researching AIing heifers. Was looking for ya'lls imput on pro's and cons of AIing Heifers. Thanks

Rather then looking at BW EPDs, looks at Calving Ease and Accuracy.

Exactly what I would say as well. I personally wouldn't breed heifers to a bull anymore. I will do all heifers AI. Most any sires out there have detailed info on them as well as the semen reps. usually see the offspring and know what is working.
I like being able to pick and choose what bulls fit what cows and for heifers my main goal is to have a small yet fast growing calf that was easy for the heifer to deliver. When sexed angus semen is finally available (which if it is and I haven't heard, please let me know) I will be the happiest breeder alive. Then I will put calving ease sires and sexed heifer semen in all my first years. Small calf pretty much guaranteed!
The other thing I like is that when I am AI'ing each cow/heifer I can feel all her "parts" and know if there is something abnormal or if she is extremely small inside etc.

I AI all of our heifers.
there is sexed semen avalible, it cost almost double but it is worth it to me

The sexed semen prices I've seen were 10x and 15x the price of regular semen
