Well I learned a lot on the first day. Very hands on and good teacher. We spent an 3 hrs at dairy this afternoon and I hit the cervix on 4 out of 5 . some of these cull cows were very difficult.

I took an AI course a few years ago, same thing as you, learning on slaughter dairy cows basically. In the class I did very well, but I soon learned with my own herd I was back to almost square one just doing my herd once a year. I guess what I'm saying is it's nice to stay "tuned up" with AI.

This one was 300 for 3 days.
That is very reasonable. I really expected it to be more.

My embryologist is having a terrible time with my older cow right now. We are breeding her every 4-6 hrs. For a flush. He is saying that her cervix is in a ball.
We will see what happens. Fingers crossed.

Has anyone taken the course at Bovine Elite in College Station, TX? They offer AI and palp/preg checking. I'm thinking of taking that one in either November or December.
