After many tries I think this is the color scheme we are going to stick with. It's got the brown that is good for a cattle site and I like the blue band. It reminds me of the sky. You also get good contrast between the type and the background which increases readability with enough contrast in the backgrounds between the posts to tell where the new post begins. Also the colors are web safe which means that everybody sees approximately the same colors. I'll be doing some light tweaking in the next few days, but you probably won't notice the changes. It would be prettier if I was an interior designer, but I'm not.

Let me know what you think. Always a dangerous thing to say! :D

I'm on dial up way out on the line, and can't get better than 45.2 kbps. Most of the time 36.4kbps. I notice this configuration takes longer to load than the other one did. I always liked how fast the pages loaded with the old one...........oh well........I'll have satellite one day maybe. No dsl or cable out here on the farm.....

Thanks for all your hard work.

Its a great thing here.

Thanks again for giving us a place to come to.

Let me know about the speed in a couple of days. The server is overloaded right now re-indexing the search. It has to read and index almost half a million posts. Should be finished by Monday morning.

Ok, I will,

Thanks again for all the hard work.

This is a great place for sharing knowledge, finding answers, and venting the fustrations of the day (Week).

I know it is not a small task to implement and keep up on a daily basis.

Thanks again for all your hard work.

Well I'm pretty much a newbie and it prolly doesn't matter but putting it politely I REALLY liked the other one better. I'm not into earth tone colors and I really liked the poster info on the left but I'm sure it's here to stay so I'll have to adapt or move on.

It looks good to me, Macon. Thanks for the upgrade, though it will take me a while to adjust. :)

I am already adjusted.

Thanks for the great board.

Thank you for your work and providing this forum. Very much appreciated.

The biggest issue for me is the usernames/avatars being on the right hand side, don't know why it bothers me so much but it does.

Thanks again

thanks Macon, the blue and brown is tolerable. now if i could just. get. that. avatar. on. the. left... (what, no pulling out hair emoticon?)

I'm getting used to the new site, but there is one change that you might want to take a look at...

Under the old system, when I clicked on a link, it oppened up that link in another tab or in another window, leaving CattleToday still open in it's own window. Now, it opens in the same window - taking me away from this site. Can you make it so that it opens the links in their own tab or own window? That way I can toggle between the two to see what the poster wrote and what is in the site they are referring to. Thanks.

Now if I could just get used to the poster's information being on the right instead of the left...

Excellent suggestion!

Great... Thanks Macon.

Since the problem is fixed on these boards, I will lend this info for other websites...

About the links opening in a new window, if you are using IE (internet explorer) or Mozilla Firefox, you can right-click on the link and select "Open in new tab" or "Open in new window".
