An elderly man had been visited by the doctor and was given the bad news the he didnt have but just so many hours more to live. He was upstairs in his bed and as he was getting weaker and more frail, when all of a sudden an aroma drifted up to his bed. The wonderful aroma of his favorite thing in the whole world--chocolate chip cookies. What an incredibly wonderful wife he had, all of this hardship and suffering and she was taking the time to bake his favorite food. What a wonderful woman. He took in the aroma of the fresh baking cookies and he had to get up and go closer. He tried real hard and just barely made it out of the bed and crept out the door and the smell was overwhelming---how wonderful his wife was, making his favorite food at a time like this. He made it through the door and crawled down the stairs and looked in the kitchen door and, there they were----hot, steaming, beautiful chocolate chip cookies, what an incredible wife he had. He was losing strength and he fell down onto the floor but the aroma kept him going and at last he made it to the table and without the energy to stand, he reached up over the edge of the table and stretched out his hand and with his last ounce of energy he put his hand on that wonderful, warm cookie and all of a sudden----WHAP, down came a spatula onto the back of his hand and his wife yelled------STAY OUT OF THOSE COOKIES, THEY ARE FOR THE FUNERAL.
