The dogs barked starting around 3:00 AM. I rolled over and thought the bear is back. At around 4:45 they went nuts. I figured I am not going back to sleep now. Got up and shined the light around. No bear but I could hear the neighbors dogs barking way off. A while later I went out to start my day. Down to the barn to feed the cats. Walked in the barn door and the smell of skunk was fresh and powerful. I went in the big door. It looked like someone tossed in a grenade. There was half a small bale of which is no more. 2 50 pound sacks of grass seed were moved 15-20 feet. There was a stack of 2x6 ten feet long that was torn apart with boards moved down the whole length of the stack. Lots of sign of digging. And a very dead skunk. The doors had all been closed. The only opening is a broken board where the cats can come and go. My small (35 lb) dog fits through there but the bigger (65lb) dog doesn't fit. Only thing I can think of is the neighbors dogs chased the skunk in there and raised a bunch of Cain killing that skunk. I need to ask him if his dogs stink this morning.

Neighbor said his dogs didn't have a stink on them. I don't know what it was. A lot of stuff moved even for a pack of Border Collies.
