A little optimism.......

Ran the disc across the oat land to clean it up. Don't have to chisel this year since we never had enough rain to run it together and I kept the cows off the few times it was damp.

I started doing the same a couple weeks ago. The clods were like rocks but the rain should have fixed that. Going to make another pass this week. If the weather cooperates going to try some millet in mid July and oats in Sept.

Don't know if I can get that optimistic but at least the option is on the table now. I won't need as many acres in oats this winter so the option for a fall crop of millet would work if it would rain.

I've go that same harrow except the cylinder on mine has two hoses. How does that work with one hose?

A 2 hose cylinder puts pressure on ether side of the piston. A single hose either puts pressure on one side or not. Weight pushes the cylinder back to the closed position.

LOL ours has no hose. A rope to pull and go back if you want to straighten to come out of the paddock. You can always add a log or concrete to make it heavier if you want.
