A.C.E is going to ruin alot of land and poullute the environment all at the same time. Some sort of ace, just don't know what sort?? :dunce: Good Luck to the land owners.
 
Just read on Fox News that the Army Corps of Engineers is going ahead with the plans to blow up the dam. It's suppose to flood alot of farm fields and 200 homes in Mo. I still can't figure this one out.
 
that levee was built and designed to be blown to protect cities on the River this is the first time it has had to be blown since it was built in the 20s I believe
I bet the corp has weighed all of the consequences of this action heavily before the decision was made and has figured what the cost will be if they blow the levee or leave it intact
from what I have read and been told if they leave the levee there will be more flooding and $$$$ lost than if they blow it
The homes should have never been built in the flood plain of the levee and I bet the corp acquired all the flood rights to that area when they built the levee
If people live in Flood plains they need to be aware of the consequences
yes it is a bad deal but
we have members on here that have to deal with water from the rivers all the time because they are on the UNPROTECTED side of the levee
We have one member who as of right now has close to if not over 1000 acres of crop ground underwater at this moment
I haven't heard him on here beotching and complaing about it
 
Mississippi river looked to be a mile wide when we crossed it Friday. I think you got home just in time AC Jed would have had to boat you to high ground.
