What does she need? i know her rear end is small what does she need to plump her up? 7.mo.old

she'll make a good mama for a lot of calves (hopefully)

I would put her on a 14-15% protein 3-5% fat growing rations

Good luck with her :cboy:

p.s. plenty of good hay too

The reason she's so small is because she's just a commercial heifer out of the pasture and i didnt have her or her momma on feed. just grass and 20% cubes. i bought 1 bag of that Purina Honor Calf Grower from the CO-OP. Will that pack on the lbs?

Yes.. any bagged commercial "show calf" grower feed will help her put on weight. Make sure you start her on it slowly.. and slowly increase the amount. Plenty of hay as well.

i give her 2lbs. in the morning. Too much?? and if she eats at least half of it i'll let her have hay but im not gonna let her live on hay before she starts eating grain. 4 days after i brought her home she ate it all for 2 days.(8lbs.) i took her to the vet saturday and he gave her 7 shots and a tattoo and she hasnt eaten more than a lb. since then.

Depending on her size she needs to be on about 12-15 lbs. Heifer's should get free choice hay.

This is a really worrying sentence - and if you have this mentality then you are going to have problems. Sorry to be blunt but there is not much to this heifer - she's small, looks to be fine boned and low in muscle. However, if you want to improve that, the answer is not to pump grain only into her. It is not healthy for the animal and will not work. You need to start her on hay first - she should get as much hay as she wants. The start introducing her to grain - small amounts first and dont increase until she is eating the entire amount. Do not wait to see if she eats her grain to decide whether you will give her hay - she will not eat any grain unless she is getting roughage. Cattle need roughage - they are designed that way.

I'm sorry if that offends you but you are heading for a disaster if you continue feeding your animals this way.
