Dam's grandsire is Grandmaster. She lost her calf last fall. She had it along the fence that follows a creek. There was a place where the fence crossed a small drainage. The calf must have slipped under and wandered into the woods. I found the carcass but black buzzards had gotten to it.

My bet is that the Optimizer bull turns out to be the best of the bunch. I don't think I've seen a calf from him that wasn't a standout

Fire Sweep and I both have discovered that. That Optimizer Bull is honestly beautiful. I really enjoy the sight of him. And he is extremely alert and the picture of health.
 
Sure are some good looking cows and calves.
I love those blaze faces.
I enjoy breeding my angus cows to Hereford bulls. Never know exactly what kind of color pattern they will throw. Some solid white face, some balze, some motley face (my personal favorite), and even a few throw solid blacks.
