We had a few eventful events this year…One backwards calf, one with a broken leg, snow and tons of mud. My father has a small herd of Brangus cow (20), he had all heifers. We have a small herd of Simbrahs and had mostly bulls. We keep telling him ours will bring more at the sale barn when he rubs it in about his bumper heifer crop.

Below is my favorite bull calf at 7 weeks. He was only 43 lbs at birth. We never have any Simbrahs with a birth weight that low. The white faced calf broke its leg when it was stepped on. He is putting weight on it and running around. It has been 3 weeks and it is still swollen. It is going to be tough to eat him. He is the friendliest calf born this year.

those are some goodlooking calves.wish all my cows would have heifer calves.

And we wish all ours had been bulls. We're heifer heavy this year. :(

Very nice looking calves. We are heifer heavy this year as well, which is what I wanted to help rebuild.

Your whiteface calf sure is a looker, too bad about the broken leg. Looks like he well on the way to mending though.
