Help Support CattleToday:

Sorry to hear of all the problems with your Fords. I have always preffered Ford trucks.I now have a 1997 Dodge cummins 4x4 5 speed . Just turned 190,000 with no trouble. I guess I got lucky.

Agboy, I have both the 7.3 and the 6.0 liter Super Duties. Both are great trucks but the 6.0L will run circles around the 7.3 and I actually prefer to tow with the 6.0L over the 7.3L. IMHO when you put an automatic behind the 7.3 you loose a lot. My old manual tranny 7.3 would tow like a dream. The 7.3 auto needs a lot of ramp up time to get up to speed.

I also have a friend that just turned 150,000 miles on his 2003 6.0L and it still runs like the day he bought it according to him. I hope to get the same from mine.

As has been said here many times, there are the good and bad in all brands. I will admit some of the first 6.0L's had some problems but the 6.0L lovers far outnumber the 6.0L haters.

I have seen guys swap and switch truck brands like they change their underwear and B and moan about each.

I have a 2003 7.3 with 175K on it. 19 mi/gallon on the road empty. 12 mi/gallon pulling 18K-20K load. It would pull more than I felt comfortable stopping with electric brakes. I was responsible for 12 F-250 / F-350 2005-2007's with 6.0 liters. They averaged 15.5 mi / gallon empty and would not pull 18-20K loads. Keep the 7.3. My 2003 smoked 12 6.0's. I would not have one.
