I spray it prett liberally, and pretty often. Never seen it stunt of hinder grass. Had buckhorn plantain pretty thick after my first cutting of hay. It was right on the fringe of being too late to spray. Went with about 3 pints to the acre. Smoked the plantain, but seems to have stunted the grass in its tracks. Tips of every leaf is yellow. Never seen this before, and may not be the 2 four d s fault. What say the group? I’ll try to get a pic if I can remember.

Do you think the heat we're under might have factored in?

I had that happen a few years ago. Mixed a bit strong and had a hot dry period follow. Everywhere I sprayed it nuked the grass. This was 24D and Remedy mixed a bit strong. Neighbor told me it was the ratios he used. I was very unhappy though.

I hope yours pulls out of it...

Public knowledge that yellowing can occur and not to spray on just emerging plants. Yellowing is temporary. Emerging plant setback who knows. I follow the directions on the container and don't have any problems.

I need to reconstruct when it was sprayed, but it was like 3 weeks ago. It wasn't too sultry at the time.

I sprayed some where I planted the SS. I mixed about 1 gallon of 24D to 80 gallons of water and it yellowed some of my grass also. Not sure if it’s pulled out of it.

Yes I imagine it did burn it at that rate.
I use 2 quarts to 100 gallons.

This is a sprayed pasture.

3 pints is pretty hot. It’ll probably bounce back. Most fertilizer companies here won’t even sell 2-4D after May. It’s very volatile and highly destructive to cotton and watermelons, which we have a lot of. Ive seen it volatize and smoke a pretty large group of planted pines as well. Never seen it but had a row crop farmer friend of mine at that you could take a quart jar full of 2-4D and set it in the middle of a cotton field with the top off and screw up 5 acres of cotton. I’m real careful with it. Seen folks spray it on peanuts and not clean the sprayer thoroughly and then spray cotton. Screws up the whole field. Most have separate sprayers for that reason.

CB, how many gallons of water per acre are you putting out?
