I know what you mean, I got a load of 28 this morning @305. I started this year doing some grid sampling, I figured as high as fertilizer is it might pay, I reckon it would take a Philadelphia lawyer to figure it for sure. By the time I get done paying everybody for the service I'm starting to wonder.

Looks like it's starting to dry up pretty good, reckon you boys will be planting corn soon.

The man who took the pics "Jed" and I would say that is just a drop in the bucket on what he spends on fert a yr
I spend 3 times that much on pastures and hayfields so I would hate to see Jed's fert bill

That one is 235 HP.It is the only one with auto guide, I have one I just bought that is 185HP and is auto guide ready but it won't hook up without another cable and I'm going to Trimble auto guide on it so I don't want to buy any more stuff I won't use.

Those engines are surprisingly fuel efficient on light loads. I would say it is far more economical to use the tractor you have rather than buy a smaller one to spread the occasional load of fertilizer.

What I do is sell cattle to put the crop out, then sell the crop to buy more cattle.

Being a firefighter sounds like work. Herb in the woods would be ginseng around here. And people WILL dig your 'sang. Corn fields is where the high dollar crops are found. And the dead bodies, if you farm near Chicago.

Ain't found any good herb is a couple of years, they all started cooking meth. :cry:
Rich cowman my butt, I spent more yesterday in 1 hour buying calves that I will make in overtime this year. Sure don't take long to spend a lot at these prices. Bought 11 cows and 5 calves today. I will need a lot of overtime to pay for these. :nod: (Think I might have them already traded).
