Been watching some Simmental bull sales the last month or so online. I was somewhat looking for a junior herd sire to breed heifers to and finally take over for W. Eagle my main herd sire. Bided on a few here or there mainly just kicking tires or playing around but ones I liked just in case I bought one. Figured I would end up buying one closer to home and in person when I was ready to breed these heifers like May - June. Well ended up buying one in western missouri in a sale. Bull is actually out of Iowa. So stay tuned for pics and we'll see if I screwed up or not.

I was finally able to get out there and pick him up and got back home here late Saturday night. Been busy today but I'll post a pic here this week sometimes or the other. Maybe a little smaller than I thought on the video but not worried about that. He's a young bull not 13 months yet so he'll come on. I'm really impressed with his demeanor he's very calm and quiet. Doesn't seem nervous at all, new people didn't bother him or new surroundings it doesn't seem. The neighbor came over and him and I loaded him with no problem since Dean was away. Also Dad said that bull was use to riding on a trailer and traveling. Overall a Good Deal. He'll fit in fine and his pedigree should blend well with my herd when his breeding time comes.

Ended up purchasing another online this Spring from Rains Simmental in Kansas. The first one's numbers dipped and I wasn't sure of him being the long term answer so now I'll get to make a choice which stays long term. The first one sired out of WHF/JS/CCS Double Up G365 and the second sired by Five Star Jackson J10. I'll get a pic of the Jackson son and add later. I'll end up using both at least a little. Wallace the Double Up is currently running with the herd and the Jackson son Rains Nevermore will breed the heifers. Just posting a little bit of what's going on here.
