16' cme trailer

Hello,
I havent posted in awhile but have qustion about a trailer. Im looking to purchase a used 1996 16' foot cme cattle trailer. Is anyone familiar with the torsion axles that come on these? Does anyone know of a way i could check them to see if they are bad without taking the wheel off?

Are they torsion or spring axles? As far as the bearings if you rock the wheels back and forth a listen and feel for play/slop that will tell you if the bearing are needing attention. B&G
