Here is my other bull that was on test. I'm using him as my cover bull this year. He's more compact than I prefer, FS 5.
So what do you think?

Scrotal 40 cm ; ADG 3.41 average was 3.57 for all the bulls in that pen on a high roughage diet; IMF 3.1 Rib ft .13; rump ft .2; REA 14.7; REA/cwt 1.31.
I would have liked to see him perform a little better on the ADG. He had pink eye for a while on test and he dropped to 1lb/day for a 21 day period. Even so I would have liked to have seen him make group ave.

3.41 ADG is enough gain on a calf. Have had some in the 5-6 lb range but it took awhile for them to "settle out". Too much stress on feet, legs, and rumen when they get over 3-4 lbs ADG. I commend you again on the calf, but of course, the big test will be what his calves will do for you. A little more marbling wouldn't hurt this calf but his backfat is a plus.JMHO

The thing I like the most about him is his disposition. I see someone holding a baby in the background and he is paying them absolutely no attention. He also looks really good going away from you!! :lol:

dang good critter, I wouldn't chase him out of our pasture very quick, the only thing that I would change is his length of body like you said. But some really long cows would be the perfect match for him

Depends a lot on the marketplace. Here in Utah I think you'd probably pay around $2,000 - $2,500 for a bull like him, but without watching him walk around, etc., its hard to tell. He's definitely a very nice bull. My compliments. :)

I would say $2500.00 give or take $300.00 about most areas of the country.

Thanks for all of the comments. He moves pretty freely. We have had a few cover bulls out of his dam; they all tend to herd the cows into a group. The cows were excited to see us, they thought they were going to be fed, and were running around, he had them grouped in short order. :roll:

I agree that the IMF could use some improving.

That is my wife with my youngest. They are next to the car. I won't have an aggressive or flighty animal on the place. With that said I don't let my guard down, bulls will be bulls. One of the reasons I send them off when I'm done with them.

You have a very good eye! :D It is still a bit hazy but healing.

Good looking bull, could be longer bodied, more ribs but sure looks like a good one. What's his age? Maybe around two years old?

He is a Feb. 04 calf.

Here are a couple of pics of his dam. She needs to be set out on her corners more, but still has a lot of capacity. We flushed her last year so no calf this year. She is seven years old and milks like a Jersey.
It is hard to get a good pic of her because she just follows me around. I finally gave up and put out some cotton seed. ;-) Stops them every time.

Oh, I see another spot in the second picture.

My last red angus bull had a white splotch in the same location, opposite hip, almost looked like a small freezebrand.
